During the month of April, in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, people across the country come together to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention. PCAV spearheads Child Abuse Prevention Month activities for Virginia annually. The theme adopted for 2014 is, “Look. Listen. Respond.”
In partnership with the Virginia Department of Social Services, Prevent Child Abuse Virginia implements a Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign that includes a Proclamation from the Governor, the Child Abuse Prevention Month Packet, and an Annual Conference. Prevent Child Abuse Virginia is proud to present the elements of the statewide campaign, designed to draw attention to child abuse prevention.
The Prevention Month Packet is a tool for individuals and communities to modify and use to support local child abuse prevention efforts. The information included in this packet will help to improve the safety and well being of children by offering parenting tips and discussing how to bring communities together to prevent the abuse and neglect of Virginia’s children. For your convenience, all materials for the 2014 Prevention Month Packet are available to download.
