More than a reminder — it's a movement.

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America® launched the Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign as a grassroots effort for individuals and organizations across the U.S. to take action. The campaign promotes healthy child development while raising awareness to prevent child abuse and neglect—before it ever happens.

More than 55,000 children in Virginia are reported victims of child abuse each year.

Working with parents and their children, we provide home visiting programs, family support and education, professional development, child sexual abuse prevention programs, advocacy, public awareness and public education. Employing a team of 30 professionals and supported by more than 50 local affiliated organizations and programs, Families Forward Virginia is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.

Families Forward Mourns School Shooting Victims in Uvalde, Texas

Every day we work to build healthier, stronger, more self-sufficient families two generations at a time. So that means that the heart of our family-wellbeing work is social justice work. We can only transform systems when we’re conscience of and horrified by the current conditions of our culture as well as the history of violence that has shaped them. We will keep pushing for change and openly challenging systemic racism, blatantly dangerous practices and violence that target our children and families.
