2016 Child Abuse Prevention Month

During the month of April, in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, people across the country come together to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention. PCAV spearheads Child Abuse Prevention Month activities for Virginia annually.  The theme adopted for 201 is, “Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect-Educate.Guide.Protect”

In partnership with the Virginia Department of Social Services, Prevent Child Abuse Virginia implements a Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign that includes a Proclamation from the Governor, the Child Abuse Prevention Month Packet, and an Annual Conference. Prevent Child Abuse Virginia is proud to present the elements of the statewide campaign, designed to draw attention to child abuse prevention.

In addition to the campaigns listed above, PCAV also spearheads other activities throughout the month, such as:  Pinwheels for Prevention and Wear Blue Day.  Learn more about these exciting opportunities and how to get involved!

There are numerous ways to participate in raising awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention!  This calendar of events and activities will continue to be updated as we receive more information:
